Keet is seeking a Product Engineering Lead in the United States to steer API and frontend engineering for a global peer-to-peer messaging product. You will work closely with product leadership, own technical design, and guide teams through complex challenges in a privacy-focused, high-scale environment.

The role requires senior leadership, strong JavaScript/React expertise, and a passion for distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software engineers or engineering leads delivering consumer-facing products.
• Strong product sense and ability to distinguish high-value opportunities from complexity.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and React; capable of frontend architecture decisions.
• Strong understanding of distributed and local-first systems, including offline-first operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead API and frontend engineering teams day to day, removing blockers and maintaining momentum.
• Set high standards for engineering quality: performance, reliability, maintainability, clean APIs.
• Own the technical design of product features and API boundaries between core and frontend.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate vision and roadmap into initiatives.
• Mentor engineering leads and elevate team processes and leadership capabilities.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement when needed.
