AMG & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Processing Archivist on a full-time contract basis to support the organization, arrangement, description, preservation, and accessibility of archival collections and historical records.

You will work with archivists, librarians, researchers, and records management professionals to ensure materials are processed and accessible per standards. Responsibilities include accessioning through final storage, maintaining finding aids and metadata, handling

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Archival Studies, Library Science, Information Science, Records Management, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional archival processing/management experience.
• Strong understanding of archival arrangement, description, accessioning, preservation, and collection management.
• Experience developing finding aids, inventories, catalog records, or metadata.
• Familiarity with archival standards, cataloging, digitization workflows, and preservation procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accurate archival documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Assess, organize, arrange, and describe archival collections and records.
• Process materials from accessioning to final storage.
• Develop and maintain finding aids, inventories, catalogs, and metadata.
• Apply archival standards to ensure consistent organization and documentation.
• Evaluate materials for preservation and handling requirements.
• Maintain records of contents, processing, access restrictions, and preservation actions.
• Support digitization by preparing materials for scanning and verifying metadata.
• Maintain archival databases and collection management systems.
• Identify restricted materials and escalate when needed.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support access and research needs.
