Job summary

AMG & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Processing Archivist for a full-time contract to support the organization, arrangement, description, preservation, and access to archival collections.

You will work with archivists, librarians, researchers, and records managers to process materials from accessioning to storage, develop finding aids, and ensure metadata quality and digitization readiness. The role emphasizes adherence to standards, attention to detail, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional archival processing experience.
• Strong understanding of archival arrangement, description, accessioning, preservation.
• Experience developing finding aids and catalog records.
• Familiarity with digitization workflows and preservation procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple collections and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, arrange, and describe archival collections.
• Process materials from accessioning through final storage.
• Develop finding aids, inventories, catalog records, and metadata.
• Apply archival standards for consistent documentation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to support access and research.
• Prepare materials for digitization and verify metadata.
• Maintain databases and collection management systems.
• Identify restricted materials and escalate concerns.
