Mercor is seeking an Industrial Hygienist / Process Safety Engineer for a remote contract role. You will develop exposure assessment plans, conduct hazard analyses, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will also contribute to AI safety by writing prompts in chemistry and chemical safety, evaluating model responses, and collaborating with AI research teams, all while maintaining flexible hours.

Competenze

• Must-have:Certified industrial hygienist with experience in exposure assessment, sampling strategy, and control banding.
• Must-have:Experience in process hazard analysis: HAZOP, LOPA, and management of change.
• Must-have:Expertise in toxic release and dispersion modeling, with AEGL/ERPG knowledge.
• Must-have:Ventilation, containment, and PPE program design for chemical hazards.
• Must-have:Regulatory compliance knowledge: PSM, Seveso, COMAH, OSHA.

Mansioni

• Write challenging single-turn prompts in chemistry and chemical safety. Label them as benign, dual-use, or adversarial.
• Evaluate AI model responses against a defined policy standard and judge correctness of handling.
• Write reference answers with technical reasoning for correct responses.
• Assess dual-use scenarios and ensure models refuse dangerous questions while answering legitimate ones.
• Collaborate with AI research teams to improve model judgment on misuse potential.
• Work independently and asynchronously with flexible hours.
