Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing workflows from a home office. You will analyze complex processes, identify bottlenecks, and design data-driven solutions to improve productivity, cut costs, and boost quality.

You will collaborate with R&D, production, and quality teams, document SOPs, track KPIs, and lead cross-functional improvement projects while ensuring safety and quality standards across sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in process engineering with a focus on optimization in manufacturing.
• Proven Lean Six Sigma or other CI method experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in process simulation, data analysis, and statistics software.
• Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple remote projects autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify improvements and bottlenecks.
• Design and implement process optimization strategies using Lean Six Sigma and SPC.
• Develop SOPs and best practices for optimized processes.
• Collaborate with R&D, production, and QA to sustain improvements.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new technologies.
• Monitor KPIs and report on impact of improvements.
• Provide remote technical guidance to production teams.
• Stay updated on process engineering and manufacturing tech.
• Manage process improvement projects from concept to validation.
• Ensure modifications meet safety, environmental, and quality standards near Paarl, Western Cape or other sites.
