Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Process Control Engineer to design, implement, and optimize APC strategies for complex chemical processes in a fully remote role. You will work with on-site engineers and operators via virtual channels to enhance efficiency, stability, and safety across global operations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 6 years in process control engineering, deep knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, control theory, and process simulation tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process control engineering in chemical/manufacturing.
• Expertise in DCS and PLC.
• Strong understanding of control theory, PID, and advanced control techniques.
• Experience with process simulation software and dynamic modeling tools.
• Familiarity with field instrumentation such as transmitters, valves, sensors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong remote collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement APC strategies and systems.
• Configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot DCS/PLC loops.
• Develop and maintain process models for control design and testing.
• Optimize control systems for stability, yield, and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate remotely with plant engineers and operators to identify needs.
• Ensure control implementations adhere to safety standards and regulations.
• Develop documentation including control philosophies and P&IDs.
• Participate in virtual design reviews and commissioning activities.
• Stay abreast of new trends and technologies in process automation.
• Provide technical guidance and training on control system operation.
