Job summary

AAPC is seeking a highly motivated coder for a remote Emergency Department and Urgent Care pro-fee coding role. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of ED coding experience and is proficient with CPT/ICD-10, modifiers, and charging infusions/injections.

You will work independently, maintain accuracy, and comply with HIPAA while delivering timely, quality coding. Cerner and Epic experience is preferred, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of coding experience in ED and urgent care.
• Experience in charging infusions and injections.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records for all urgent care and emergency room services.
• Follow current ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Adhere to NCD, LCD, and CCI policies as necessary.
• Apply modifiers as appropriate.
• Stay updated about new coding rules as codes routinely change.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and security compliance.
