Job summary

Natera is seeking a Supervisor, Prior Authorization to oversee daily operations of our Prior Authorization teams, including domestic and offshore staff. You will drive timely, accurate resolutions, monitor KPIs, and partner with Billing, Verification, Denials & Appeals, and other Revenue Cycle functions.

Lead, coach, and develop teams in a fast-paced environment to optimize authorization workflows and reduce reimbursement delays, while ensuring compliance with payer guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with prior authorization, insurance verification, denials or appeals.
• 1+ year in a supervisory or team-lead role.
• Strong understanding of prior authorization workflows and payer requirements.
• Familiarity with commercial and government payer policies and medical necessity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Prior Authorization teams (submissions, denials, appeals) and ensure efficient workflow.
• Lead domestic and offshore team members with coaching and performance management.
• Monitor KPIs: productivity, turnaround times, case resolution, quality, backlog.
• Review denials, coordinate appeals, and implement corrective actions to reduce recurrence.
• Resolve authorization discrepancies impacting claim processing or reimbursement.
• Manage workload distribution, queues, and aging inventory; ensure timely follow-up.
• Escalate complex issues and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with Billing, Insurance Verification, Denials & Appeals, and Revenue Cycle functions.
• Align offshore team leads with workflows, training, and escalation procedures.
• Identify trends and root causes; implement process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to payer requirements, policies, documentation standards, and regulations.
• Conduct quality reviews and audits for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare performance reports and communicate trends and opportunities.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and standardized workflows; support training materials.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations to build a high-performing team.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, continuous-improvement environment.
