Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Medicare and Medicaid prior authorizations in a 100% remote MedPharm environment from Houston, TX. Training runs Mon–Fri 10:00 AM–6:30 PM EST, with after training rotating shifts.

Responsibilities include intake setup, tech review, and approving or denying medications based on criteria, with strong customer service focus. The role emphasizes HIPAA compliance, data entry, managed care experience, and independent work in a remote setting,

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Experience in data entry and managed care.
• Prior Authorization processing.
• Proficiency in customer service and handling claims.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Responsibilities

• Handle intake of MedPharm prior authorizations and set up in the system.
• Conduct Tech Review by receiving PA cases and reviewing for coverage.
• Approve or deny medications based on criteria and eligibility.
• Read and interpret criteria, SOPs, insurance documents, and medical records.
• Provide excellent customer service over the phone.
