Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Pre-Access Authorization Specialist I for a fully remote role supporting Peaks Regional Office in Colorado. You will verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and monitor authorizations to protect patient financial health.

This position requires strong revenue cycle knowledge, medical terminology, and customer service skills. You will engage with patients and providers, escalate unresolved issues, and maintain productivity and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or 4 years revenue cycle experience.
• Minimum of 2 years insurance authorization experience.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and updates patient demographics and guarantor data.
• Verifies insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations; follows up on appeals/denials.
• Contacts patient/provider when authorization is unsecured prior to service.
• Escalates unresolved issues.
• Maintains departmental/individual work queues and ensures quality.
• Meets productivity, due diligence and quality standards.
• Promotes mission, vision, and values.
