Job summary

Descript is seeking a Lead Product Manager for the Narrative Editing team to own how users capture, edit, and perfect stories. You’ll shape script-first editing, recording tools, and regeneration features that enable seamless AI-assisted video creation, all within a collaborative small team with immediate impact.

You will drive customer insights, define features, and ensure the editor scales for larger teams while maintaining a focus on craft and user delight in a rapidly evolving AI space.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience shipping creative tools or workflow products
• Customer discovery and feature definition experience
• Ability to design intuitive experiences for end-to-end workflows
• Aptitude for crafting products with strong attention to craft and detail
• Comfort working in ambiguous problems and translating ideas into action

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of customers and the evolving AI video landscape to guide the editor roadmap
• Incorporate Descript’s design taste into interactions and defaults for polished work
• Collaborate with AI Research to launch features like video regeneration and speaker ID
• Own recording, script generation, and translation flows within Descript’s editor
• Ensure the product scales for larger teams and complex workflows
