Job summary

Descript is seeking a Lead Product Manager for the Narrative Editing team. You will shape how users capture, edit, and perfect stories, guiding the editor roadmap and AI-powered features while maintaining a strong focus on user needs and end-to-end workflows.

You will work with a small, collaborative team to deliver tangible impact, partnering with AI Research to bring features like video regeneration and automatic speaker identification to users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product management experience shipping creative tools or workflow products that scale for complex use cases.
• Must be customer-centric with ability to conduct customer discovery and define impactful features.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate ideas into actionable product plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of customers and AI video landscape to guide editor roadmap.
• Incorporate Descript’s design taste into interactions and defaults for polished output.
• Collaborate with AI Research to launch features like video regeneration and speaker identification.
• Own recording, script generation, and translation flows for end-to-end video workflows in Descript.
• Ensure Descript scales reliably for larger teams and complex workflows.
