Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Software Testing Principal (MUMPS) to lead testing for mission-critical healthcare applications in a remote setting. The position supports Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare systems with a focus on MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments and regulatory compliance.

You will develop and execute test plans, validate HL7/FHIR data exchanges, and mentor junior testers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and readiness for production

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, government, or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience testing enterprise applications in healthcare operations or clinical workflows.
• Experience supporting legacy mission-critical systems and MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
• Proven ability to develop detailed test plans, scenarios, scripts, and cases.
• Experience performing functional, regression, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Ability to validate EDI transactions and HL7/FHIR data flows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, scripts and procedures for MUMPS/InterSystems Cache environments.
• Validate software enhancements, maintenance releases, defects, and system upgrades.
• Lead testing efforts, mentor junior testers, and provide testing guidance for government healthcare systems.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and end users to validate requirements and test objectives.
• Track and report testing metrics, defects, risks, and status.
