Job summary

Lumen is hiring a Principal Software Development Engineer to drive Salesforce and MuleSoft‑powered integrations in a remote, US‑based setting. You will translate business needs into scalable technology, shape architecture, and set engineering standards for cross‑system automation across Salesforce, cloud, and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong software development skills around Salesforce.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering integrations using MuleSoft.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams in a complex environment.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
• US Citizen or GC holder.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of MuleSoft‑based integrations using API‑led connectivity.
• Define and govern enterprise API standards, including RAML/OpenAPI specifications, versioning, and lifecycle management.
• Act as a bridge between engineering teams to ensure clear system interactions.
• Architect cross‑system automation and integration patterns involving Salesforce and other platforms.
• Ensure reliability, scalability, observability, and security of integrations.
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and security teams to align integrations with enterprise standards.
• Establish engineering standards and document design patterns; oversee cross‑system automation.
