Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst for its Core IT team. You will own cross-functional programs with broad scope, defining problem spaces and setting standards for requirements and systems thinking across multiple business domains.

You will work directly with senior IT leadership, advise on architecture and processes, and mentor teams while upholding Samsara’s Growth Mindset and Long-Term focus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of business systems analysis, strategy, or architecture experience at a large-scale organization.
• Deep expertise in requirements strategy, organizational design, systems thinking, and process optimization.
• Track record advising senior leadership on complex decisions and large-scale transformations.
• Ideal candidate has strong influence, analytical rigor, and ability to manage multiple programs end-to-end.
• Experience with data management and analysis tools such as Google Sheets/Excel and Splunk.
• Exposure to corporate security and compliance programs (SOX, GDPR, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of Core IT's highest-impact projects and programs across multiple systems.
• Define problem spaces for significant, ambiguous issues and advise IT leadership.
• Build requirements practices, frameworks, and standards adopted by the team.
• Act as a trusted advisor to IT leadership on organizational design, systems architecture, and process strategy.
• Manage IT's engagement with the business: gather requirements, coordinate resources, plan timelines.
• Drive operational excellence with deep understanding of IT engineering, operations, and metrics.
• Develop and refine business processes and scalable improvement strategies.
• Mentor analysts and engineers to grow in scope and independence.
• Champion Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally.
