Job summary

SEARCH is seeking a Principal Investigator to lead archaeological projects in the United States, coordinating field, research, and reporting activities while ensuring compliance with Section 106 NHPA and NEPA. The role requires strong technical writing, team leadership, and the ability to travel as needed.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Anthropology or related field, at least five years of supervisory experience, and a proven track record managing CRM studies.

Qualifications

• Background in cultural resource management
• Excellent technical writing skills for reports reviewed by subject matter experts
• Experience producing reports under federal, state, and tribal agencies (e.g., Section 106 of NHPA and NEPA)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field, research, and lab tasks for multiple projects
• Oversee research, fieldwork, data analysis, and report preparation
• Write high quality technical reports and prepare awardable proposals
• Develop project Health & Safety plans and ensure standards are met
• Train and mentor archaeologists and report authors
• Manage agency and client relationships and communicate project developments
