Job summary

ICF is seeking a Senior Research Methodologist to provide scientific leadership for a two-year, grant-funded multimodal survey experiment combining phone and in-person data collection. You will oversee design, sampling, analysis, and dissemination, coordinating with in-country partners and the DHS program to evaluate hybrid designs and produce transferable guidance.

Remote position with global fieldwork, reporting to the Global Health and Development Practice.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in a quantitative field OR Master’s with 20+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in survey research design and implementation (20+ with Master’s).
• Deep expertise in probability sampling, weighting, complex survey design, and estimation; ability to mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall scientific leadership from design to dissemination across two country tracks.
• Convene a technical working group and finalize core design decisions with in-country partners.
• Lead development of the study protocol and oversee IRB/ethics submissions.
• Direct analytic core: sampling, dual-frame estimation, non-response and replacement, mode-effects, small area estimation.
• Develop a cost-quality frontier and integrate fieldwork time data.
• Support fieldwork remotely and in-country; coordinate field workforce across two arms.
