Job summary

Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis seeks a Principal Engineer to establish the engineering vision for the Customized Experience Platform (CEP). You will shape platform strategy, guide cross‑channel delivery, and mentor teams building web, mobile, and content experiences to improve speed, quality, and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in an engineering role or similar.
• 5+ years leading high performing technology teams.
• Proven track record establishing architecture, standards, and reusable patterns for digital experiences.
• Demonstrated ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Active participation and leadership in the technology community.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions across CEP capabilities with focus on content management, digital delivery, experimentation, mobile/web app engineering, observability and analytics, and developer experience.
• Articulate component interactions and how architectural choices improve delivery speed, quality, reliability, and outcomes.
• Embed with CEP platform engineers to unblock implementation and accelerate paved paths.
• Lead development of architecturally impactful components and drive adoption of patterns across web, mobile, and content-driven experiences.
• Contribute to product planning and translate customer outcomes into technical strategy and roadmaps.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers; share engineering best practices.
