Job summary
Thrivent Financial is seeking a Manager of Engineering to lead the Engineering Productivity ecosystem, including our Internal Developer Platform (IDP), self-service capabilities, and developer experience initiatives.
You will own the vision, strategy, and evolution of platform capabilities that enable engineers to build, deploy, and operate software more effectively, balancing innovation with reliability, security, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years in software/platform engineering with reliability improvements.
- 3+ years of leadership driving strategy and execution for engineering teams.
- Experience building/evolving an Internal Developer Platform (IDP) at enterprise scale.
- Strong metrics focus: adoption, satisfaction, deployment efficiency, lead time reduction.
Responsibilities
- Own health, reliability, security, and scalability of Thrivent's IDP and related platforms.
- Lead self-service engineering capabilities and developer experience initiatives.
- Define roadmap, drive adoption, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate AI-enabled capabilities and pilot innovative improvements.
