Job summary

Amira Learning, a leading edtech company, is seeking a senior backend engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will design and own complex backend systems, build large-scale data pipelines on AWS, and deliver AI-assisted data-driven features across Node.js, Python, .NET, and SQL stacks.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Three years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing software and machine learning solutions in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and own complex backend systems end-to-end, including architecture, integration points, performance optimization, and scalability across services and data platforms.
• Design and operate large-scale data pipelines and backend services using AWS technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3).
• Build and maintain backend APIs and distributed data workflows in a cloud-native architecture.
• Work across Node.js, Python, .NET, and SQL to implement services and data pipelines delivering insights and data-driven features.
• Translate product and business requirements into technical designs and guide implementation across teams.
• Implement AI-assisted development workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, and productivity improvements.
• Design reusable AI-assisted workflows, tools, and shared prompt libraries integrated into CI/CD and code reviews.
• Oversee technical output, delivery flow, and system-level effectiveness.
• Lead design and development, participate in reviews, propose improvements, and evolve the system.
• Collaborate with product, engineers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams to deliver high-impact tech solutions.
• Mentor teammates in AI-assisted development practices and refine team processes to reduce bottlenecks.
