ClassLink, Inc. is seeking a remote Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines, REST APIs, and cloud-native data services that power our education platform used by millions.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted engineering, multi-tenant data architectures, ETL/ELT workflows, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Remote work with quarterly in-person strategy meetings, and a strong focus on security, observability, and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3–5 years in data engineering or backend data platform development.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with PostgreSQL experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines, REST APIs, and cloud-native data services.
• Apply AI-assisted engineering practices and coding standards to improve efficiency and quality.
• Ensure data solutions meet security, testing, observability, data quality, and reliability requirements.
• Own technical implementation for data initiatives from design through deployment.
• Design multi-tenant data architectures for secure, scalable data processing.
• Extend ETL/ELT pipelines by integrating vendor data sources via REST APIs, SFTP, events, and queues.
• Develop REST APIs and database solutions to support app functionality and reporting.
• Extend relational models, migrations, and optimize query performance.
