Job summary

NextGen Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Principal Database Engineer to lead architecture, automation, and reliability of enterprise database platforms across AWS and GCP.

You will own SQL Server, drive migrations to PostgreSQL, and define observability standards for scalable, secure cloud data services. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of production DB experience, strong cloud and IaC skills, and experience with regulated healthcare environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing and managing enterprise relational DB platforms in production.
• Extensive cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and IaC/DevOps.
• Experience migrating SQL Server to cloud-native or open-source platforms.
• Familiarity with SaaS or healthcare regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define, architect, and govern highly available, secure enterprise database platforms across cloud environments.
• Lead reliability, performance, and lifecycle management of SQL Server platforms toward PostgreSQL and cloud-native services.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to implement CI/CD, automation, and observability.
