Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a US-based healthcare-focused SaaS company to hire a Sr. Database Administrator. The role oversees enterprise SQL Server, Oracle Exadata on AWS, AWS Aurora MySQL, and PostgreSQL across cloud and on-prem environments.

You will drive DR, security, and modernization initiatives in a fully remote capacity for Eastern/ Central time zones. Responsibilities include designing scalable database infrastructure, leading incident responses, and mentoring teams while advancing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with applicable experience.
• At least 6 years in database administration, minimum 4 years in enterprise SaaS.
• Strong experience with cloud data platforms (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, OCI) and relational DBs (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis, Couchbase, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Advanced scripting/automation with Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible; IaC and automated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise SQL Server infrastructure with high availability and replication.
• Support SQL Server, Oracle Exadata on AWS, AWS Aurora MySQL, and PostgreSQL across cloud/on-prem environments.
• Develop disaster recovery strategies with DR testing and automated failover.
• Enforce data retention, archiving, purging policies; implement data security controls (TDE, RBAC, auditing).
• Lead performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization for high-volume workloads.
• Advise on database modernization and cloud-native/containerized architectures.
• Promote automation via Terraform/Ansible and CI/CD pipelines; mentor team.
• Develop SOPs; lead incident response across time zones and distributed teams.
• Assess licensing/hosting costs for performance and cost optimization.
• Adapt to follow-the-sun support; occasional travel up to 10%.
