Job summary

RON SUNSHINE ASSOCIATES LLC is seeking an experienced field engineer to test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substations on transmission and distribution systems.

You will troubleshoot, run start-ups, collect data, read schematics, and work independently on site while reporting findings to customers and project leads. Must be willing to travel regionally and occasionally out of state.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• NETA certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.
