Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a field engineer to test and commission protective relays and substation equipment across the upper Midwest. This role is remote with travel to utility sites.

You will work from home and drive to substations, performing start-ups, collecting test data, and reporting findings to customers and project leads. Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• Bachelor's degree in EE or a related field, or equivalent experience. NETA certification is not required.
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.
