Job summary

Theoris is seeking a Power System Software Engineer to design and implement automation tools for outage coordination and stability analysis across our client footprint. The role focuses on integrating data from EMS, CIMSpy, CI, and other sources to streamline contingency analyses and transfer studies.

You will develop scalable, production-grade tools and user interfaces, enabling efficient operation planning and reporting.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of software development experience; 6+ years preferred.
Strong programming and application development skills.
Experience developing production-grade software or engineering applications.
Understanding of electric power systems and stability analysis.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software tools that automate outage coordination and power system stability assessment workflows.
Build prototype and production applications connecting EMS models, outage data, and power system datasets.
Develop integrations with EMS, PI, CIMSpy, CROW, and other data sources.
Automate stability studies using VSAT and TSAT.
Create workflows for outages, stressed base cases, transfer scenarios, and contingency analyses.
Develop APIs, scripting interfaces, and automation routines to streamline study execution.
Design and develop user interfaces using Tkinter or similar GUI frameworks.
Generate reports, dashboards, visualizations, and transfer margin analyses for planning and operations.
