Job summary

Camus Energy seeks a Power Systems Software Engineer to own and advance modeling capabilities at the heart of the Camus platform. This individual contributor role covers the full stack of power systems work, from model development to scalable architecture.

You will collaborate with utility customers to validate model outputs against real measurements and deploy models within a cloud-native framework, enabling large-scale planning studies and real-time orchestration of DERs.

Qualifications

• Masters/Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of industry experience deploying power systems models for real world applications.
• Experience with OpenDSS or other power flow modeling software.
• Ability to translate complex mathematical formulations into production-ready code.
• Strong Python skills and production-grade software discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity power flow and OPF models.
• Write and maintain automated tests and validation pipelines.
• Drive architecture of solvers balancing accuracy and performance.
• Build tooling to visualize and translate outputs into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with utility customers to validate models against measurements.
• Integrate utility models (GIS, ADMS, and time series data) into Camus platform.
• Identify bottlenecks in large-scale grid simulations.
