GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Power Engineering intern to contribute to our Power Conversion and Storage Solutions team.

The role focuses on reviewing control algorithms, building high-level block diagrams, and developing simplified models for testing across platforms like MATLAB and PSCAD. The internship emphasizes understanding inverter-based equipment, grid integration, and automation architecture, with opportunities to present analyses and customer value propositions.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in electrical or electric power engineering, controls engineering or related field of study.
• General understanding/awareness of power system and control system concepts.
• Understanding of inverter-based electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the controls teams to review the control algorithm of the product.
• Develop high level block diagram of the control system.
• Develop simplified models of the control system and test it in different platforms like MATLAB, PSCAD etc
• Develop technical understanding of electrical characteristics of GE Vernova Solar, Storage, Synchronous Condensers and STATCOM Solutions power electronics products and their integration to electrical grids.
• Work on automation architecture
• Effectively communicate to internal customers by preparing detailed written reports and/or presentations describing analyses performed, solutions developed, and customer value propositions.
• Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are prized
• Python coding and Agentic Coding using AI
