Job summary

GE Vernova's Power Conversion co-op/intern engineering team seeks a student intern to contribute to electrical power conversion systems for naval, industry, marine, and Oil & Gas applications. The role covers MV & LV power converters, motors, transformers, switchgear, and related power systems engineering, with exposure to cutting-edge power electronics technologies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university with a specialty in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an unlimited time.
• Familiar with coding and computer programming tools; MATLAB experience or similar (Python, C++, etc).
• Experience with Models in AUTOCAD, ANSYS/CREO.

Responsibilities

• Learn to prepare and review detailed technical specifications for control of large power converters.
• Develop and deliver a base software package for typical project configuration.
• Model power electronic controls for power quality and system stability studies.
• Assist with HMI/Control/Process coding and test planning.
