Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking an aspiring Power Conversion intern to contribute to naval, industrial, marine and oil & gas power systems projects.

You will learn to design, model, and test power converters, motors, transformers and related controls while gaining hands-on experience with real-time simulations and HMI coding. Ideal candidates are engineering students with a 3.0 GPA, US work eligibility, and familiarity with coding and CAD/CAE tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding).
• Currently enrolled in an engineering program (Electrical/Mechanical/Computer).
• U.S. work authorization without sponsorship.
• Familiar with coding and programming tools.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar (Python, C+).
• Experience with CAD/Simulation tools (AutoCAD, ANSYS/CREO).

Responsibilities

• Learn to prepare/review detailed technical specifications for control of large power converters.
• Contribute to base software package development for typical project configuration.
• Learn engineering artifacts for power converters including software specs and drawings.
• Create models of power electronic controls for power quality and stability studies.
• Develop understanding of HMI/Control/Process coding.
• Assist in test planning per project requirements.
• Engage with offline and real-time models of the power electronics plant.
