Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Power Conversion Co-op/Intern Engineering student to contribute to electrical power conversion systems for Naval, industry, marine, and Oil & Gas applications.

You will engage in MV & LV power converters, motors, transformers, E-house, switchgear, and related power systems engineering. You will learn to develop base software, model power electronic controls, and assist in test plans and documentation, while gaining hands-on experience in safety, reliability, and

Qualifications

• GPA 3.0 or higher (unrounded).
• Enrolled in an accredited engineering program (Electrical/Mechanical/Computer).
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Familiar with coding and software development tools.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar (Python, etc.).
• Experience with CAD/simulation tools (AUTOCAD, ANSYS/CREO).

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs follow safety, quality, and value culture.
• Prepare/review detailed technical specs for control of large power converters.
• Develop and deliver base software package for typical project configuration.
• Learn engineering artifacts including software specs and control drawings.
• Model power electronic controls for power quality and stability studies.
• Learn HMI/Control/Process coding.
• Develop test plans aligned with project requirements.
• Work with offline and real-time models of power plant systems.
• Manage software design processes for power converters.
