Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an engineering-co-op/intern to contribute to power conversion systems for naval, marine, and industrial applications. You will work on MV/LV converters, motors, transformers, and control software, gaining hands-on experience in power electronics and testing.

You will learn to develop software packages, model power electronic controls, and engage in hardware drawings and test procedures, within a safety-focused project environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering school from an accredited university with a specialty in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an unlimited amount of time.
• Familiar with coding and programming tools.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, or C+.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all designs and practices implement and foster a culture of safety, quality, and value.
• Learn to prepare/review detailed technical specifications for the control of large industry, marine and naval power converters that meet customer requirements.
• Develop, define and deliver the base software package for use in typical project configuration
• Learn engineering artifacts associated with specific power converters on projects including software specifications, control specifications, software, control drawings, software, factory acceptance test procedures, and commissioning instructions.
