Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Power System Protection and Control Engineer to execute engineering and consulting services across the US and Canada. You will design, program, test, and commission protection and control applications for substation automation projects, collaborating with the Grid Automation North America team.

Requirements include a bachelor's in electrical/computer engineering, 5 years of P&C experience, and PE licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Five years of experience in design, study, and analysis of electric power systems.
• Must hold or be eligible to obtain a Professional Engineer license in at least one state.
• Knowledge of power system steady and transient analysis and protection theory.
• Familiar with protective relays and coordination concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver protection solutions for generation, transmission and distribution systems.
• Perform short circuit, load flow, insulation coordination, arc-flash studies and protection coordination.
• Create relay setting files and configure protection and control elements.
• Test protection solutions in-house and at customer sites.
• Support commissioning and field testing of new applications.
