Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Postgres Deployment Engineer to elevate our PostgreSQL offerings. You will own stability and deployments, collaborate with product and infrastructure teams, and help scale developer tools to millions of users.

You’ll work in a remote, globally distributed environment, focusing on packaging with Nix, lifecycle management, and release automation, while mentoring peers in Nix-based workflows.

Qualifications

• Have 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and its ecosystem, including extensions and performance optimization.
• Proficient with Nix packaging (flakes), Ansible, Docker, and cloud tools like AWS.
• Experience building for multiple architectures and polyglot environments (C/C++, Go, JS, Rust).

Responsibilities

• Package software into the repository using Nix (flakes) and transition packaging from traditional to Nix.
• Manage PostgreSQL lifecycles, including major/minor/extension upgrades; expand release systems.
• Optimize CI/CD, extend GitHub Actions and internal tooling; resolve production deployment issues.
• Mentor the engineering team to adopt Nix-based workflows and best practices.
