Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Financial Analyst for Post-Award in the Office of Sponsored Projects. The role focuses on financial management, data-driven reporting, and post-award activities across sponsored programs.

You will conduct variance analysis, LOC draws, receivables processing, and reconciliation to ensure accurate funding and project balances while supporting workflow improvements and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree encouraged for growth.
• At least 5 years of progressive finance or accounting experience with forecasting and analysis.
• Experience with research administration or governmental/commercial accounting.
• Proficient in Excel; ability to build complex data models and spreadsheets.
• Ability to interpret grant/contract terms and manage financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Support funds management and improve workflows with analytical tools.
• Perform financial trend analysis, variance reviews and reporting.
• Escalate issues and provide timely updates on receivables analytics.
• Process LOC draws, prepare draw reports, and reconcile fund balances.
• Assist with refunds, receivables aging, and routine collections.
• Support program reviews and internal audits with efficiency opportunities.
• Contribute to broader sponsored projects financial operations.
