cps-outdoors is seeking an experienced aquatic designer to lead pool, spa, and water feature design from concept through permitting. The role includes producing and reviewing construction drawings, coordinating with architects, engineers, and clients, and ensuring design integrity and compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD skills and direct experience in concrete construction, hydraulics, and MEP coordination, with leadership potential as the department grows.

Formación

• Direct professional experience designing swimming pools, spas, water features, or related aquatic systems.
• Strong AutoCAD construction drawing standards and documentation experience.
• Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP drawings.
• Experience leading design and coordination meetings with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to mentor drafting staff and enforce CAD/Revit standards.
• Knowledge of zoning requirements and pool/building codes.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced aquatic designer with a strong background in swimming pool, spa, and water feature design, construction documentation, and project coordination. This position requires someone who can independently manage projects, produce and review construction drawings, and work directly with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants. The ideal candidate will have direct swimming pool design experience and a strong understanding of concrete construction, reinforcing steel detailing, hydraulics, MEP coordination, zoning, and building codes. This is a hands‑on lead role with the opportunity to grow into a management position as the department continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage swimming pool, spa, water feature, and aquatic design projects from design through permitting and construction coordination.
• Develop and review detailed AutoCAD construction drawings, details, plumbing, hydraulic systems, and related components.
• Review and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP drawings to identify and resolve design conflicts.
• Develop and review plumbing, hydraulic, and equipment layouts for constructibility and system performance.
• Review and apply applicable zoning requirements, building codes, pool codes, and construction standards.
• Lead client and design coordination meetings with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
• Review drawings for accuracy, constructibility, code compliance, and consistency with company standards prior to issuance.
• Lead and mentor the drafting team while maintaining company CAD and Revit standards, templates, and best practices, with the opportunity to take on additional management responsibilities as the department grows.
• Manage project schedules, drafting workloads, priorities, and resource allocation to maintain deadlines and project quality.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong AutoCAD experience with a solid understanding of construction drawing standards.
• Direct professional experience designing swimming pools, spas, water features, or related aquatic systems required.
• Revit experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of concrete construction, reinforcing steel detailing, and construction documentation.
• Experience with pool hydraulics, plumbing, equipment layouts, and related aquatic systems.
• Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, civil, landscape, and MEP drawings.
• Working knowledge of zoning requirements, building codes, pool codes, and permitting requirements.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects with minimal training and supervision.
• Strong client communication skills and the ability to lead design and coordination meetings.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review drawings for quality, accuracy, and constructibility.
• Demonstrated leadership and team building skills with the ability to mentor staff and support the growth of the design team.
• Reliable, organized, and accountable with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
