Job summary

CPS Outdoors seeks a Project Engineer in Miami to support the planning, coordination, and execution of luxury outdoor living and aquatic construction projects. You will review drawings, assist with scheduling and submittals, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to keep projects on time and within scope.

Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting construction drawings, specs for complex site/aquatic projects.
  • Ability to assist in scheduling, coordination, budgeting support, and tracking deliverables.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with clients, teams, design professionals, and field crews.
  • Foundational electrical engineering understanding for outdoor lighting, pool/spa systems, and site infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent construction experience.
  • Experience in residential or commercial construction; pools or aquatic facilities preferred.

Role Description

This is a full-time Project Engineer position based in Miami, FL, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some work from home. The Project Engineer supports the planning, coordination, and execution of complex outdoor living and aquatic construction projects from design development through final completion. Daily responsibilities include reviewing engineered drawings and specifications, assisting with project planning, scheduling, and submittals, and coordinating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams. The role involves conducting site visits, documenting field conditions, tracking progress, and helping resolve constructability and technical issues related to structural, mechanical, and electrical systems in pools and outdoor environments. The Project Engineer also supports cost tracking, RFIs, quality control, and compliance with safety, permitting, and code requirements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to CPS Outdoors’ quality standards.

Qualifications
  • Strong project engineering and project planning capabilities, including experience interpreting construction documents, drawings, and specifications for complex site and aquatic projects.
  • Solid project management skills, with ability to assist in scheduling, coordination, budgeting support, and tracking deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Effective communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with clients, internal teams, design professionals, and field crews.
  • Foundational electrical engineering understanding relevant to outdoor lighting, pool and spa systems, and integrated site infrastructure, or willingness to develop this expertise.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent combination of technical education and relevant construction experience.
  • Experience in residential or commercial construction; exposure to pools, aquatic facilities, or outdoor environments is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with construction-related software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar, project management tools, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace).
