Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to navigate Medicaid policy and translate analysis into practical recommendations.

You will independently research federal and state requirements, guide priorities with the team, and translate policy into system behavior for our integrated eligibility platform. The role spans policy research, cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering, and supporting policy-driven implementation.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of policy analysis experience.
• Hands-on experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or guidance.
• Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in technical and policy contexts.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy, including applications, verification, renewals, notices, or appeals.
• Experience working within agile delivery and human-centered design processes.
• Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or related field.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship required.
• May be subject to a government background check or security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings to improve program processes, operations, or technology.
• Identify policy questions, propose approaches, and progress when work is not fully defined.
• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement policy in technology and processes.
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant solutions.
• Develop policy briefs, decision frameworks, and process flows to support decisions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementations.
• Conduct landscape and cross-jurisdictional research to monitor evolving policies and implications.
• Build relationships with external partners to exchange implementation lessons and share Nava’s policy expertise.
