• Fluency in Pohnpeian and English with cultural awareness.
• Ability to assess regional/accents to communicate with LEP.
• Excellent listening, retention and note-taking for accurate interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly in a friendly, professional manner.
• Render correct concepts according to interpretation protocol; avoid omissions/additions.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain professional demeanor during sessions at all times.
• Remain calm in emergencies (e.g., 911) and handle high call volumes.
• Follow client instructions and protocol to meet LEP needs while ensuring permissions.
