Job summary

Backpack Healthcare is seeking a part-time PMHNP in Virginia to provide autonomous telepsychiatry for children, teens, and young adults within an integrated care team.

You will conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and collaborate with therapists and care coordinators; weekend/evening availability is required.

We offer mentorship, CEU reimbursement, and a supportive practice environment for clinicians. A Virginia license is required.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia PMHNP license and PMHNP-BC certification.
• Ability to practice independently without MD collaboration.
• DEA license and telehealth experience preferred with youth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and formulate evidence-based diagnoses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with patients and their families.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust as needed.
• Provide brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation alongside medication management.
• Collaborate with therapists, psychiatrists, and care coordinators in regular case reviews.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in our EHR.
• Educate families about diagnoses, treatment options, and what to expect.
