Smith Seckman Reid, Inc is seeking a Plumbing Designer. The role focuses on translating architectural drawings into effective models, creating precise electronic drawings, and supporting design development across projects.

You will work with CAD tools, collaborate with MEP disciplines, and contribute to design decisions and site coordination. The position invites experienced candidates with a technical degree or equivalent experience, proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and related

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in an applicable discipline or five years of applicable experience.
• Capable of reading and interpreting plans from other disciplines (architectural, structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and discipline specific engineering software (TRACE, HASS, SKM).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of construction terminology.
• Knowledge of basic math.
• Knowledge of building design specifications.
• General knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies.
• General knowledge of applicable engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Process drawings from the architect into usable models for the design team.
• Prepare electronic drawings using industry software with accuracy and neatness.
• Assist in developing design approaches and concepts for projects.
• Implement design requirements communicated by the design team.
• Perform system design layout and sizing for projects.
• Assist in load calculations and equipment selection to fit design.
• Identify design issues and communicate with senior staff.
