Job summary

Happy Returns LLC is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to build and operate backend services powering our data platform and internal tools. You’ll focus on reliable APIs, data-access layers, and integrations to improve system reliability and developer experience.

Responsibilities include shipping features with Go/Python, building data pipelines for analytics, and participating in architectural design reviews.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience building backend APIs or services.
Familiarity with databases and data storage technologies.
Ability to ship clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Strong collaborative mindset with stakeholders across the organization.
Curiosity and adaptability to explore new technologies.
Self-starter with ability to learn independently and thrive in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of implementing and delivering new features using languages like Go and Python, backed by PostgreSQL.
Build and maintain data pipelines and tooling powering analytics and workflows.
Participate in architecture discussions and reviews to ensure scalable, reliable systems.
Uphold clean code standards and maintainability through reviews and testing.
Learn from senior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Partner with Product, Data, and other engineering teams to translate needs into solutions.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and documentation.
Support system health via testing, monitoring, and debugging.
