Job summary

Storm2’s client, a payments infrastructure FinTech, seeks a Platform Engineer to own significant pieces of the platform, from Terraform migrations to CI/CD and observability. This lean team requires engineers who can implement production changes with independence and build tooling to accelerate others.

You will work across cloud providers (GCP/AWS/Azure), Kubernetes/ECS, and Go/Python/TypeScript, shaping secure, observable infrastructure with strong ownership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years across platform, infrastructure or backend engineering with production infra ownership.
• Experience with IaC tools: Terraform, Pulumi or CloudFormation.
• Production cloud experience with AWS/GCP/Azure (GCP preferred).
• Experience building CI/CD and internal tooling, not just using a platform.
• Backend language experience: Go, Python or TypeScript.
• Hands-on observability tooling: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry.
• Strong IAM, secrets management and secure-by-default infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own infrastructure-as-code across networking, IAM, VPCs and provisioning, including Terraform migrations.
• Hardening CI/CD, secrets management and self-service deployment tooling.
• Build internal abstractions and tooling for product engineers to ship faster.
• Expand observability across instrumentation, metrics, monitoring and alerts.
• Support production cloud infra and reliability across messaging systems.
• Develop tooling for compliance, access controls and remediation.
• Improve developer onboarding, local workflows and infra documentation.
