Job summary

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure Customer Engineering and Support team. You will design, deploy, and troubleshoot OpenStack/OpenShift environments and work with Kubernetes-based platforms.

You’ll automate daily tasks with Python and Ansible, lead high-severity incident investigations, and perform RCAs to prevent recurrences. Ideal candidates have strong networking, containerization, scripting, RCA skills and experience with MySQL/MariaDB and ETCD.

Qualifications

• Strong networking fundamentals in cloud environments (TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, firewalls).
• Proficient in Kubernetes, OpenStack, and Docker/Containerization; knowledge of Podman, Helm, KVM/QEMU is a plus.
• Solid Python and Bash scripting; experience with Ansible for automation.
• Experience with RCA and implementing durable root-cause fixes.
• Familiarity with escalation, monitoring and emergency management processes.
• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB) and ETCD.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, manage, troubleshoot, and optimize containerized apps on Kubernetes, OpenShift, and OpenStack.
• Develop, test, and maintain automation scripts with Python and Ansible.
• Lead investigation and resolution of high-severity customer incidents.
• Identify root causes quickly and implement durable solutions.
• Prepare and conduct rigorous RCAs for critical incidents to prevent recurrence.
• Stay current with best practices in cloud and containerization.
