Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Technical Consultant to lead the deployment, lifecycle management, and security of enterprise-grade Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters in a fully remote environment. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional development, security, and cloud infrastructure teams to automate cluster provisioning, maintain high availability, and enforce strict security compliance across complex platforms.

Key Responsibilities
Cluster Architecture & Deployment:
- Design, deploy, and configure enterprise-grade Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters across cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), VMware, and bare-metal platforms.
- Tune and optimize cluster components for high availability, multi-tenant isolation, and peak performance.
- Provision and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
GitOps & Automation:
- Build complex Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts to streamline operations.
- Implement declarative application delivery and synchronization workflows using ArgoCD.
- Author, package, and standardize platform services using Helm charts and Kustomize.
Cluster Lifecycle & Storage Management:
- Manage end-to-end cluster lifecycle operations, including zero-downtime upgrades, security patching, and node scaling.
- Configure and maintain persistent storage solutions (CSI, Ceph, NFS) for enterprise workloads.
- Participate in support rotations and root-cause analysis for production incidents.
Observability & Telemetry:
- Implement centralized monitoring, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, and Loki.
- Build automated alerting mechanisms and dashboards-as-code to monitor cluster capacity and health.
Security & Service Mesh:
- Enforce RBAC, CNI network policies (Calico/Cilium), and regulatory security baselines.
- Configure and maintain Istio service mesh for secure traffic management, ingress/egress, and mutual TLS (mTLS).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–6+ years of hands-on experience deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes in enterprise production environments.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Scripting & IaC: High proficiency in Bash and Python, along with extensive experience using Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Networking & Storage: Deep understanding of container networking interfaces (CNI), CSI plugins, and software-defined storage.
- Certifications (Preferred): Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or CKAD.
- Remote Collaboration: Strong asynchronous communication skills with proven ability to operate independently across distributed teams.
