Job summary

LMI is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer role focused on platform engineering for AWS-hosted Kubernetes environments connected to the DODIN. Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance.
• 5+ years of platform engineering, cloud engineering, DevSecOps, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with DODIN-connected systems.
• 8570-compliant DoD certification.
• Kubernetes deployment, administration, and upgrades.
• AWS infrastructure and services experience.
• Linux-based systems administration.
• Docker/OCI container tooling experience.
• Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps.
• Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, TLS.
• DoD cybersecurity practices, RMF, STIGs, ATO.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work remotely and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, operate, and sustain AWS-based platform services.
• Administer Kubernetes clusters and RBAC, networking, ingress, storage, secrets.
• Use Terraform, CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, registries.
• Onboard, configure, deploy containerized apps across environments.
• Integrate with DODIN services, IAM, PKI, logging, monitoring.
• Ensure security baselines, RMF, and ATO compliance.
• Monitor platform health using AWS-native and partner tools.
• Troubleshoot Linux, containers, Kubernetes, AWS, networking issues.
• Patch, back up, and perform upgrades with minimal mission impact.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, software teams.
• Maintain architecture docs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support architecture reviews, incident response, RCA, and post-mortems.
• Provide status reporting on health, risk, and dependencies.
• Participate in time-sensitive maintenance outside hours when needed.
