Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior AI Platform Engineer to lead the development of a secure, accreditable AI platform on AWS GovCloud IL5 for DoD use. You will bridge platform engineering with security to ensure accreditation is built in from the start.

The role requires DoD security expertise, strong cloud experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC, and the ability to work with AO stakeholders remotely, with on-site reporting as needed near Adelphi, MD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering/Data Science or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on cloud/platform/DevOps or MLOps engineering.
• U.S. citizenship with active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
• Experience supporting a DoD/federal accredited cloud environment (IL4/IL5, FedRAMP).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Knowledge deploying ML/LLM workloads securely.
• Strong communication to defend technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accreditation strategy for the agentic AI platform and security controls.
• Develop artifacts supporting ATO and continuous ATO (cATO) including diagrams and data flows.
• Collaborate with security teams and AO stakeholders to translate AI/cloud architectures into evidence.
• Design, build, and operate a secure AWS GovCloud IL5 platform for agentic AI workloads.
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes and Docker workloads with observability and resiliency.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and IaC using Platform One, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Support container hardening and secure software delivery practices.
• Integrate Bedrock and other authorized AI/ML services; manage IAM and data flow controls.
• Implement logging, tracing, monitoring, auditing, and cost attribution.
• Mentor engineers on secure, accreditable architecture and development practices.
• Develop and execute the platform technical roadmap.
