Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Remote Physician Pro Fee Coding Specialist-Anesthesia to review and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services, ensuring proper sequencing, modifiers, and compliant billing.

You will work with physicians and revenue cycle teams, conduct coding audits, resolve claim edits in Athena Collector, and support coding education to maintain accuracy and reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems for physician/professional fee services.
• Understanding of modifier usage, place-of-service coding, and payer billing guidelines.
• Experience with EHRs, coding software, and claim processing systems.
• Ability to identify documentation deficiencies and elevate for provider education.

Responsibilities

• Assigns accurate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for professional services based on documentation.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, payer policies, and coding protocols with NCCI, LCDs, and NCDs.
• Performs coding audits and quality reviews to improve accuracy and reimbursement.
• Works coding-related claim edits and scrubs in the billing system to support timely payment.
• Collaborates with physicians and revenue cycle teams to resolve coding issues.
