Qualifications

• 1+ years medical billing experience in a multi-specialty practice (Preferred)
• Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT coding is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Analyzes daily outstanding insurance accounts and follows up by phone or letter.
• Communicates with payors and internal departments to obtain essential information.
• Researches customer service inquiries and responds promptly per guidelines.
• Reviews and corrects coding edits and denials; may code ICD-10 from documentation.
• Maintains patient/physician confidentiality and PHI security.
• Identifies trends in insurance issues and reports findings to the team lead.
• Handles multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
