Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Coding Specialist, Physician Coding to join the Physician Billing Office team at Baptist Jacksonville. This is a full-time day-shift remote opportunity with eligibility to work from multiple states that approve remote work.

Ideal candidates will have physician coding experience, expertise in E/M coding, and CPC certification. Specialty-specific coding certification is preferred to support accurate patient billing and compliance.

Qualifications

• Physician coding experience is required.
• Experience with E/M coding, outpatient procedures, and minor office procedures is expected.
• CPC or equivalent certification is required.
• Specialty-specific coding certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Apply evaluation and management (E/M) codes for applicable sites of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty tests, and minor surgeries.
• Follow coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure coding accuracy to support physician billing and reimbursement.
• Identify discrepancies and documentation issues per procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and specialty practices.
